How To Customize A Shortened URL
Make sure you have created a shortened link before proceeding with this tutorial. If you haven't, click here to learn how to create a shortened link
1. Click on 'Dashboard' . If you're on mobile, click the 3 horizontol lines (≡)
. Under the 'Links' section, select your shortened link, click on the 3 dots button and select edit
. You can assign this link to a porject by clicking the drop down menu under 'Project' aand selecting the project to be assigned to
. You can assign a pixel to the shortened link by clicking on the 'pixel' button and checking the check box next to the pixel you wish to assign to the link
. You can make the link into a temporary URL by clicking on the 'Temporary URL button
Turn the 'Schedule' switch to on to make the URL active for a certain period of time. Enter the start and date and time of when the URL will be active. The link will be inactive before the start date and after the end date
You can make the link availabel to a limited amount of visitors. Enter the number of clicks that the link will be available to. Upon reaching this limit, the link will no longer be active upon reaching this number
You can set an Expiration URL. Visitors who click on the link while it is inactive will be redirected to this URL
. You can protect your links with a password. Only those with a password will be able to access your link. Click the 'Protection button' and enter your password in the field
You can warn users of sensitive content by turning the 'Sensitive content warning' on
. You can assign different destination URLs to different audience segments. Click on the 'Targeting' button
From the dropdown menu, you can choose to target based on country, device type and browser language. In this example, we're going to set up a destination URL for targetted for visitors from USA
Select 'country' from the 'Targeting type' drop down menu
Click on the 'Create' button
Select the country you wish to target from the list. And enter the destination URL in the field below
. You can also do an A/B test for your link. Under the 'Targeting' button, select 'Rotation & A/B Testing' click on the 'Create' button
In this example, we're going to send 50% of the visitors to one URL, and the other 50% to another URL
Enter the percentage number in the 'Percentage chances' field. And the destination URL in the field below.
This means that 50% of visitors who click on this link will go this URL
Click on the "Create' button below it
Enter the percentage number in the 'Percentage chances' field. And the destination URL in the field below it. Now you should have something that looks like this
When everything is done, click on the 'Update' button
Make sure to test out your link by clicking on your link at the top of the page. Your link is the URL after 'Your link is'
