How To Create And Customize A Link Block

Before proceeding, please make sure that you have set up your biolink page. If you haven't, click here to learn how before proceeding to this tutorial


To apply changes and see the preview of a link block, simply click on the 'Update' button after making any changes


You can click on your biolink URL at the top of the page to see what your live biolink page looks like. We recommend you look at on both desktop and mobile


Now let's begin the tutorial



Creating A Link Block


1. On your 'biolink settings' page, click on the 'Links' button


2. Click on the 'add block' button


3. select 'Link' from the list


4. Enter the destination URL and the text to be used for the link and click on the 'Submit' button


Customizing A Link Block


1. Select the link block that you want to edit and click on the '3 dots' button


2. Select 'Edit' from the drop down menu


3. You can upload an image from your device by clicking on the 'Choose File' button


4. To use an icon on your link block, click on the 'FontAwesome' text


Enter the icon that you wish to use into the search bar and press 'enter' on your keyboard. In this example, let's search for a 'globe' icon


Click on the icon that you prefer from the search results


You will brought to a new page. Copy the text in the quotation marks (" ") in this case it's

fas fa-globe


paste this text into the 'icon' field



5. To change the color of the text and background of your link block, you can select your preferred colors under their respective settings


Or alternatively, you can have a transparent background with just an outline of the block by turning on the 'outline' option


6. You can change the roundedness of the link block by selecting any one of the options in the drop down menu under the 'Border Radius' setting


7. You can add an animation for your link block by selecting any one of the options in the drop down menu under the 'Animation' setting. You can set how many times the animation will play from the drop down menu under the "Animation runs" setting


8. When everything is complete, click on the 'Update' button to update your link block.
